The trick to getting kids to eat their vegetables is to get them to grow them first. Simple as throwing some seedlings in a bag of good quality compost, water and wait for harvest. My kids can't wait to eat their home grown vegetables.

If you have a exercise bike or treadmill at home that you rarely use, put it in front of the TV or listen to motivating music while you exercise. You will be surprised how quickly the time can fly by. Also try setting yourself targets eg. run/ cycle 2km today and 2.5km tomorrow etc.

Lou - Ferntree Gully VIC

While preparing your evening meal, when your children are hungry and hovering, chop up some salad vegies and put them on a plate for each child (and yourself). It stops bad snacking and means you don't have to nag about finishing the cooked vegies of dinner.

Try to have a side salad with your evening meal. Raw, fresh vegies are great. Adding a side salad is easy. Don't just use the usual, try raw broccoli, cauliflower, cabbage, zucchini, beetroot. Grate it sometimes, dice or slice. Add variety and lots of different colours. Try it occasionally with an organic, fat free dressing. Eaten before your main meal will reduce the amount you eat.
