Alternative event and competition ideas

If a Community Healthy BBQ Challenge is not right for your community or organisation, here are some other ideas:

  • Hold a ‘cooking on a budget’ demonstration, sharing tips for inexpensive healthy recipes.
  • Hold a healthy recipe demonstration or competition.
  • Hold a healthy food for children demonstration, sharing tips for helping children to eat more healthy food.
  • Organise a local fruit and vegetable co-op to improve availability of fresh fruit and vegetables from local growers.

Simply alter the Community Healthy BBQ Challenge toolkit to meet your needs.

You could link your event to a community health day or week, like those identified below.
